Lazydays RV can help you choose the right pop-up camper for your lifestyle!

Especially if you’re new to the RV lifestyle, deciding which type of RV is right for you can be a challenging decision. If you’ve narrowed your search down to pop-up campers, here are the factors you’ll want to consider before choosing a specific model:

What Vehicle Will You Be Using to Tow Your Pop-Up Camper?

If you’re not planning on buying a new vehicle to tow your pop-up camper, you’ll need to find out the towing capacity of your current vehicle. Because lengths and weights vary among different types of models, you’ll need to consider what your vehicle is capable of towing before choosing a model. Remember, as the length and weight goes up, so does the towing capacity you’ll need to tow your pop-up trailer safely.

What Type of Pop-Up Camper Do You Need?

There are four main types of pop-up campers: tent-trailers, high wall campers, a-frames and teardrop campers. Standard tent trailers can “pop up” on the sides, creating extra tent space for sleeping. High wall campers are similar to standard tent trailers; however, they have higher sidewalls and a hard top. While this creates additional space, they can be heavier to tow. A-frames are often more durable and easier to set up; however, there is decreased living space. Teardrop campers are typically the smallest in size and are therefore easier to tow.

DO YOU HAVE A BRAND PREFERENCE?

At Lazydays RV, we carry the top selection of RV brands in the nation, including campers from Forest River, Coachmen and Columbia Northwest. Whether you have a brand in mind or want to browse all our campers, we’re confident you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for at Lazydays.

SHOULD YOU BUY A NEW OR USED CAMPER?

Depending on your price range and specific RV needs, you’ll need to decide whether or not you’d like to purchase a new or used camper. It’s important to remember that if you do purchase a pre-owned RV, you can’t always be sure how the previous owners cared for the RV. That’s why we recommend purchasing from an RV dealer you trust and doing extensive research before buying, as many warranties tend to be determined based on the age of the model.

CAN I TEST OUT AN RV?

Most RV dealerships don’t offer extended trials of their inventory; however, renting an RV can be a great way to get a better feel for your RV needs. While our RV rental fleet does not currently offer any pop-up campers, we have several smaller travel trailers for rent, which can help give you a better idea of what you’re looking for in an RV.
