Gila National Forest
With it’s cool summers and warm winters, Gila National Forest is perfect for all seasons. Choose from recreational activities like hiking, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, swimming, boating and so much more, all while enjoying the varied landscapes of this 3.3 million-acre national forest. You can also enjoy camping at one of the many RV parks nearby, including the Silver City KOA campground.
Albuquerque
While Albuquerque may be best known for the its International Balloon Fiesta in October, there are plenty of exciting events throughout the year, including beer and wine festivals, holiday parades and art exhibitions. While you’re in town, take a hot air balloon ride, go rafting or canoeing on the Rio Grande, win some money at one of the local casinos and enjoy some truly amazing views.
Santa Fe
Santa Fe boasts 300 sunny days per year, the third largest art market in the country and plenty of outdoor activities for the adventure-minded. Check out some museums, visit Indian Pueblos, hit the trails on your mountain bike, relax at a winery or spa and enjoy RV camping at the Santa Fe KOA. No matter how you decide to spend your time, you’re bound to make memories that will last a lifetime.
Roswell
Even if you don’t believe in aliens, Roswell features plenty of fun for the whole family. To get a taste of the great outdoors, head to one of the many parks and recreation areas, disc golf and traditional golf courses, and RV campgrounds. If you’re feeling curious, you can check out one of the UFO museums or even attend the UFO Festival in June.
