Lazydays, the RV Authority, has worked with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to customize a brand new Bucs Vision Mobile, which will visit local schools to provide students with critical vision services.
“We are honored to contribute to a cause that is so key to children’s development in our area; their very vision,” said Lazydays Chief Executive Officer Tim Sheehan. “This was a chance for many of our team members to contribute their skills and talents in such a meaningful way.”
Some details of the project include:
- Lazydays customized a 2015 Forest River Georgetown motorhome, thoroughly renovating the interior space for medical equipment and to give children a great experience.
- Lazydays craftsmen teamed up to customize the woodwork, fixtures and infrastructure.
- A full, artistic vehicle wrap, featuring a larger-than-life image of Buccaneers Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy.
- To help prepare drivers, Lazydays provided driver training, as well as a thorough tutorial walk-through on the proper use and maintenance of all of the RV components.
A fun, interactive mobile eye clinic for children, the Bucs Vision Mobile visits 60 Title I elementary schools in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties each year to assist with vision screenings and administer eye exams. In 2014 alone, the Vision Mobile provided more than 1,800 pairs of free eyeglasses to Tampa Bay-area youth. Since the program’s inception in 2009, the Bucs Vision Mobile has screened over 10,000 children and by the end of this season will have given out more than 9,000 pairs of eyeglasses.
Founded in Tampa in 1976 – the same year that the Buccaneers franchise was awarded to the region – Lazydays has grown to offer customers the largest selection of new and pre-owned RV brands in the nation.
As part of a larger partnership with the Buccaneers, Lazydays will showcase its RVs on game days in the new Lazydays RV Tailgating Lot, the first dedicated on-site parking location specifically designed for Buccaneers game day RV traffic. There, fans will enjoy a fun and exciting tailgating experience that includes interactive activities and contests.
