The most common concern we hear about year-round RV living is not having enough space to store everything.

Whether you live a spacious Class A or travel the open road in a Class C, making the most out of the limited space in an RV is a process and there is no perfect way to go about it. To help, we’ve put together some of our favorite RV storage hacks and organization tips.

MOUNT RV ORGANIZATION ACCESSORIES

When it comes to RV organization, you aren’t limited to the space inside your cabinets and shelves. Mounting storage containers, trash cans, and more are all possible in an RV. Some of our favorite ideas include:

  • Hanging Mason Jars: Store all kinds of small items, from loose change to spices, by mounting mason jar lids to upper cabinets with a couple of screws.
  • DIY Storage Pods: A length of PVC pipe, a few caps, and some Command™ strips can turn into all sorts of storage pods for items like toothbrushes and utensils. Simply cut a piece of pipe in a 3- to 5-inch segment, cap the bottom, and adhere to a wall or the inside of a cabinet. They can also be decorated, so making them can be a fun activity for the whole family!
  • Command/Suction Cup Hooks: Add more hanging storage along windows and kitchen walls with suction cup and Command hooks.
  • Peg Board: If you really want to fully customize your mounted storage options, add peg board along a few sections of wall. Peg board offers a range of mounting options for utensils, cleaning supplies, dishware, and more

TRY THESE STORAGE IDEAS FOR RV CLOSETS

It may seem like closet space in your RV is limited to what is already built in the unit, but depending on what model type you have, there are a few places to add some additional storage for things like clothes, shoes or towels. These include:

  • Under the bed: You can add functionality to your bed frame through a few methods. If your existing frame has space underneath, add some storage bins for clothes, shoes or other items. If you’re a DIYer, turn your bed frame into an RV closet by mounting your mattress on spring hinges and building segmented compartments in the frame.
  • Hanging Shelves and Shoe Racks: Hanging shelves and shoe racks are great ideas to improve your RV closet storage space. They’re compact, foldable, and are great for storing clothes, shoes, towels, or other items.

CREATE A PLACE FOR EVERY ITEM NO MATTER HOW SMALL

Finding room for larger items like dishware, cleaning supplies and appliances can seem like a chore, but the little things like utensils and accessories can add up. Some great RV storage hacks for smaller items include:

  • Using broom clips as flashlight holders
  • File folders attached to the inside of cupboards for kitchen supplies like aluminum foil and sandwich bags
  • Ceiling mounted paper plate dispenser
  • Toiletry holder made from coat hangers or binder clips

These are just a few of our favorite RV storage hacks for 2019, but the possibilities are only limited by your creativity. Visit Lazydays RV Accessories & More for all your RV needs. Also, check out the Lazydays RV blog for more RV tips, road trip ideas, and more!
