When you’re traveling in your luxury RV or motorhome, you are bound to see some of the most beautiful and interesting sights along your destination route. Capturing these sights in photos will help spark your memory of the occasion after you have moved on to other adventures.
To help you overcome some challenges of capturing photos during these memorable trips, here are some simple photo tips that will make you proud to show off the pictures for years to come.
Early Morning or Late Evening Photos
Most pro photographers agree that the two best times of the day to make the best outdoor photos are at dusk and dawn. Usually, the rule is a half hour before the sun rises and a half hour after sunset. Most professionals believe these times of day provide the most desirable light. Often, professionals refer to these times as the ‘golden hour’. Along with the light, the shadows can turn a nice photo into a great one.
Be Creative and Compose the Photograph
Its’ so simple to just run outside and just point the camera around and start snapping. Usually, this method only has very few keepers. However, the best photos require a bit of thought and composition. This rule applies if you are using a high-end camera or the camera on your smartphone. Try to consider how the outdoor element relate to each other. Likewise, when photographing a person outside, try to compose them in relation to the surroundings. Avoid the cliché boring photo of just having someone stand in the center of the frame.
Avoid Placing the Horizon in the Center of the Frame
As a rule, most photographers believe the photograph is more interesting when the horizon is slightly off-center. With the horizon slightly off center, it allows another object, the sky or ground to be emphasized. Again, that emphasis is determined by how the outdoor elements relate to each other.
A Sense of Scale Adds Emphasis
Often you may want to show how big, wide or deep an attraction may be. This can be challenging for both the photographer and the person who later sees the photo. So, the best approach may be to compose the photo in a manner that helps the viewer understand the scale.
